A couple weeks ago we took a trip 6 hours east near Asheville, NC to Oskar Blues REEB Ranch for Redbull Dreamline. Anthony Napolotian a professional BMX rider sponsored by Redbull dreamed up a contest for the dirt scene a division of BMX often forgotten as far as high level competitions go, taking an idea to a progressive company like Redbull it became an idea that would up the ante for dirt events.
On the mountains in Brevard master dirt course builders put together a string of huge dirt jumps that is truely a 'dreamline' to any trail cat. They also brought in some of the games best dirt jumpers to go along with the perfect setup. Awesome jumps, the worlds best riders, the most energetic company in action sports as the event sponsor all we needed was a good weather and good weather we got. Though we did experience a small delay due to a light yet chilly rain, after about a 2 hour delay things got underway. Riders have flown into North Carolina for the biggest dirt contest in BMX set against a mountain side early fall could it be much better? These guys did not dissappoint, throwing down some of the illest tricks while reaching heights of over 20ft.
Everybody was so impressive the judges had their hands full picking a podium much less a winner. The finals was the only day open to the public which included riders Kyle Baldock, Ryan Nyquist, Dennis Enerson and more. Many X-Games and Dew Tour wins between those guys and they had their hands equally full with the rest of the rider list. Since Redbull Dreamline will be televised on NBC Sports on November 8th we won't spoil it but feel free to check out these photos of just some casual tricks of the day.
